A New Era of Cultural Revolution
Real human progress is marked by the
march towards a lofty and fruitful
ideal. The Tamil Nadu Government under Kalaignar M.Karunanidhi, the President of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (D.M.K.- The Dravidian Progressive Association), is taking sure and steady steps in socio-economic, political and cultural fields that are liberal, progressive and egalitarian in nature. While its measures are increasing the agricultural, industrial and commercial activities, enhancing employment opportunities and living standards, its initiatives in socio-cultural fields make positive contributions towards reform and enlightenment.

A Darwinian View of a Hostile
Richard Dawkins’s book The God Delusion (2006, reviewed by Ken-drick Frazier in the March/April 2007 SKEPTICAL INQUIRER; see also, Massimo Pigliucci, “Is Dawkins Deluded?” SI, July/ August 2007) has attracted much attention. Federalism - Samathuvapuram
This Government has always striven to realise federalism in its true spirit, as expounded by Arignar Anna’s philosophy of State autonomy. In fact, even in 1969, when the Hon’ble Kalaignar assumed office as the Chief Minister for the first time, a Committee to study and give its recommendation on Centre-State relations was constituted under the Chairmanship of Justice Rajamannar, with Dr. Lakshmanaswami Mudaliar and Justice Chandra Reddy as members and its report was obtained. This Government is happy to note that the Union Government has constituted a Commission on Centre-State relations, headed by Justice Madan Mohan Punchhi, former Chief Justice of India. We hope this Commission will make necessary recommendations paving the way for a truly federal governance in our country while at the same time preserving the unity and integrity of the nation.
